DMEXCO 2026: Big topics, many buzzwords – and even more good conversations

Agentic Commerce, Retail Media, AI Search: Major topics and buzzwords dominated DMEXCO 2026. At Hall 7.1, the focus was also on the questions that retailers and brands face in their daily operations.

Two intensive trade show days in Cologne are behind us. At our stand D026 we met existing customers, new contacts and partners. Together with Insider One and Click Pilots We have brought together different perspectives on commerce, marketing, and performance.

Three teams, many perspectives on Commerce

Whether it was product data, marketplaces, performance, or the next stage of the commerce strategy – visitors were able to discuss their questions directly with the people who work on these topics every day.

This was in line with the official motto of DMEXCO 2026: „Scaling Intelligence“. The conference focused on, among other things, „AI as Business Accelerator“, „Agentic AI & AI Commerce“, and „Trust & Strong Brands“. Official DMEXCO review You can find out more about it here.

What we took away from the conversations especially

  • Marketplaces remain a key growth topic.

Being represented on additional platforms is only the first step. What is crucial is that product data and offers match the requirements of the respective marketplaces and are presented in a channel-specific manner. To this end, the Marketplace connections that Product data optimization and that Feed Management the Channel Pilot Solutions solution.

  • More clicks are not an end in themselves.

What is crucial is not only how many people reach an offer, but also what contribution a visit makes to sales. Therefore, value per click is considered more important than reach: Price positioning also plays a role – for example, when retailers use price promotions to attract customers. Dynamic pricing reacts to competition and market conditions.

  • AI must have an impact in business

Agentic Commerce and AI Search are changing the way products can be discovered and compared. For companies, this not only raises the question of which new technologies are available, but also where to use them to improve processes meaningfully and create measurable added value. The guiding principle of „Scaling Intelligence“ brings this very challenge to the point: turning opportunities into applications that are useful in everyday life.

  • Good commerce solutions are created through collaboration

Product data, marketplaces, and performance don’t operate in isolation. Our joint partnership with Insider One and KlickPiloten has brought together different perspectives in one place – and shown how valuable collaboration is when commerce challenges go beyond individual disciplines.

More value per click: our joint whitepaper

How can we extract more value from every single click? Together with Insider One, we have developed the Full-Funnel Efficiency Playbook 2026/27. „More value per click“ developed.

The whitepaper shows three levers: generating the right demand, converting visitors into buyers, and developing a long-term relationship from the purchase. It also includes practical work materials such as the Listing Readiness Check and the Intent Matrix.

„DMEXCO has shown how quickly e-commerce is changing: AI agents will in the future have a say in deciding which products customers actually find and compare. Therefore, discussions at our stand always revolved around the basics – current product data, visibility on marketplaces, and competitive prices. At the same time, retailers expect complex processes to become faster and easier. This is exactly where I see the next big challenge for our industry.“
