AI in E-Commerce: Our Highlights from the E-Commerce Berlin Expo 2026
Product data is no longer just a technical necessity in e-commerce. It determines product visibility, campaign performance, and how well a product range can be scaled in multichannel sales. At the same time, with every new platform and every additional market, the requirements for the structure, quality, and automation of this data grow – and with them, the pressure on teams that manage these processes in their daily work.

This was precisely the topic of intensive discussion at the E-Commerce Berlin Expo 2026 on February 17th and 18th: retailers, brands, technology providers, and agencies came together to discuss current developments in digital commerce.
The event reached its 10th edition this year. – and for the first time moved to Messe Berlin, a sign of the Expo's continuous growth. We were also present as exhibitors again. For two days, our booth focused on modern multichannel commerce – and on the question: How can the increasing data effort in e-commerce still be managed efficiently?
Many visitors came to our booth with very specific questions, including:
- How can large product catalogs from various data sources be efficiently brought to marketplaces?
- How can orders from multiple marketplaces be processed centrally in the shop system, ideally like normal online orders?
- How can multiple Shopify stores and different sales channels be effectively managed within a central structure?
In our discussions, a central development in digital commerce emerged: assortments are growing, retailers are expanding internationally, platforms are imposing increasingly specific requirements – and all of this increases the effort required to cleanly maintain and manage product information.
A look at product titles makes this very clear. They must accurately reflect the content of the respective landing page, include relevant keywords, and clearly prioritize central product features. At the same time, platforms demand a consistent format: no advertising slogans, no unnecessary special characters, clear structure. Sounds simple? In practice, precisely this costs an enormous amount of time and ties up a lot of resources.

Trade Show Highlight: Product Data Optimisation Reimagined

This is precisely where our presentation at the Expo picks up. Together with DOUGLAS we have shown how these increasing demands with AI-powered approaches allow for significantly more efficient product data management.
Under the title „The Product Data Revolution – How DOUGLAS Successfully Uses Channel Pilot Pro's AI Formula Generator,“ Jonas Franke (Team Lead SEA at DOUGLAS) explained and our COO Carsten Mesecke-von Rheinbaben, how artificial intelligence simplifies complex data structures and makes campaign processes noticeably more efficient. Instead of elaborate manual rules, logic can now be defined much faster – and, above all, scaled more easily.
For those who want to dive deeper into the use case: You can find more details about the use of the AI Formula Generator at DOUGLAS in our Client Case.
