CPC bidding for product search engines
Currently, the following channels offer the option to transmit different CPCs in the feed: Ladenzeile, Stylelounge, moebel.de, Netzshopping, Stylight, and MOEBEL24. More will be added in the future. CPC bidding on product search engines differs fundamentally from the well-known Google Shopping principle, because the transmitted and bid CPC is paid without a „bidding process“. This means that if the CPC is specified as 50 cents, the merchant pays 50 cents for each click on the item.

The easiest way to set CPCs in Channel Pilot Pro is by manual entry via the category „Administration“ in the individual channels. Here you can enter CPCs at the product and category level. Depending on the channel, it is permitted to increase or decrease the CPCs by certain ranges from the standard price. Based on our example, we choose the Stylight channel and determine for the Category „Dirndl“ a higher CPC with 40 cents and for the Category „Blouses“ a lower CPC with 25 cents.
Subsequently, the modified CPC is transmitted in the designated CPC field in the export. After the export, the modified CPCs are taken into account for cost calculation in the analysis.
For the pros, it is possible to define the CPCs dynamically in a custom data field and apply them to products via rules. To do this, you need to go to the corresponding channel „Edit settings“ click the slider „Bidding“ on „Yes“ place and store your own data field there. We are already discussing this function in a previous blog post received and presented how CPCs are defined based on sales data.
